What you may temporarily experience

  • You may experience discomfort and swelling in the area tooth has been

    removed

  • You may notice the above things for a little while

  • But this must be a reducing basis

  • Please contact me if anything worries you

Post Treatment Care After Your Extraction

  • Do not disturb the area as much as possible

  • Starting 3 days post treatment, rinse gently with warm salty water

  • If you have received a prescription of medications, please follow as advised

  • Otherwise, if needed consider taking 1-2 tablets of Nurofen (ibuprofen

    200mg) and 1-2 tablets of Panadol (paracemtamol 500mg) 2 times a

    day as needed

  • Avoid hot drinks, alcohol and hard or chewy foods

  • Avoid strenuous exercise, smoking and alcohol for 1-2 weeks post

    extraction to allow healing.

  • Healing is substantially reduced by the cigarette chemicals and puts you

more at risk of developing a dry socket.

  • If you had an upper tooth removed, avoid blowing your nose or sucking on

a straw too hard as this may create an opening between your sinus and

    your oral cavity

  • If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

  • If it is after hours and you feel it is a medical emergency, please contact

  • your local hospital.
